Cabrillo National Monument

After visiting my Grandfather we stopped at the Cabrillo National Monument, which is just up the road.  It was about 4:30 PM and the monument closed at 5:00 PM that day so we didn’t have enough time to go to the statue, but the views were very beautiful from the Visitors Center and we took lots of photos and video.  And I included a picture of the statue from the Wikipedia page (below). Summer Reading

The first place grandma took me when we got to San Diego was the Poway Public Library where I signed up for the summer reading program called “Pause to Read”.   My goal was to read 10 books! But when we got home from the library my Dad found a summer reading assignment from school in my bag.  So I had to read those too — and do book reports! All together I borrowed 12 books Read more…

Sabrina

Sabrina is my Grandma’s miniature long-haired dachshund.  She’s always around when there’s food to be found which is generally under the table or sitting right next to you at the table.  Everywhere she goes people stop and want to pet her and tell her how pretty she is.  An excellent companion, she is named after the movie that my Grandma saw on her first date with my Grandfather. Allie and Bunny on JetBlue JFK to SD

From New York to Grandma Ann

My most wonderful paternal Grandma Ann invited me and my Dad to stay with her in San Diego for a whole month in July 2014.  We flew JetBlue out of JFK.  It turned out to be a very long day of traveling because we missed our first flight but luckily, the airline was very gracious and got us on another flight later that same day.  We spent a lot of time at the airport Read more…
