I don’t get many opportunities to swim at home in New York City but I sure do when I visit my Grandma Ann in San Diego! My swimming activities there include two weeks of swimming lessons with The San Diego Swim School at the Mount Carmel High School Pool in Poway, trips to the Poway Community Swim Center with my Dad and Grandma, and an awesome all girls pool party with my friend Emmy.

Swimming lessons started on July 7th and lasted two weeks. I was only scheduled to have one week of semi-private lessons in the mornings but Grandma Ann was determined to help me become a better swimmer. I think she saw how hard I worked. So she arranged for me to have private lessons for a second week in the evenings.

Poway has a beautiful community swim center featuring a big, clean, Olympic-sized pool. We went there for family swims.
Emmy’s All Girl Pool Party
Emmy is my friend who lives in San Diego. We have play dates when I visit my grandmother. I’ve known her for three years now. She is a really good swimmer. One minute she’s next to me in the pool and the next she’s at the other end swimming under water. She goes really fast. She and her mom threw a really fun all-day girl’s only pool party. I met so many nice girls at the party I can’t remember everyone’s name. Let’s see there’s Emmy, Gabby, Joslin… oh well!
